Brewery Spotlight: Twin Lakes Brewery
Living in Delaware, I have the luxury of drinking some great beers from local breweries such as the infamous Dogfish Head Brewery and of course my alma mater the Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant.
While I love these breweries and will drink their beers ’till the end of time, I have had the pleasure of drinking out of the proverbial beer fountain of another local brewery which I think deserves some attention.
Twin Lakes Beers
Twin Lakes Brewery, located in Greenville, DE, has been the beer on choice at my favorite drinking destination in Newark, the Homegrown Cafe, where they’ve had the Twin Lakes Greenville Pale Ale on tap off and on for some time now.
The brewery resides on a family farm and does give daily brewery tours where you’ll get a chance to see how their beer is made and chat with the brewers. You can find out more information about these tours at the Twin Lakes Brewery Website.
The brewery is barely a year old and currently only features three beers in its line-up: The aforementioned Greenville Pale Ale, The Route 52 Pilsner, and the Tweeds Tavern Stout. Seasonals include the Jubilicious Holiday Ale, Winterthur Wheat, and Caesar Rodney Golden Ale. The names of these beers come from the rich history of the brewery and its surroundings, a treat if you’re from the area and like good beer. More brews are planned as the brewery grows and more beer geeks begin to enjoy their tasty brews.
Unfortunately, Twin Lakes is currently only available locally; hopefully if your in the area you’ll have the privilege of trying one!

You know, I actually really enjoyed Twin Lakes’ beers at the Newark Food and Brew Festival thing…
I had kinda made up my mind that I wouldn’t like whatever they had to offer, but I ended up liking the Greenville Pale Ale a lot.
I’ve been to the brewery and enjoyed their offerings at area restaurants. Sure wish they I could find it in North Carolina.
