Just got news that one of the world’s most renowned beer enthusiasts, Michael Jackson, passed away yesterday morning, reportably due to complications from his Parkinsons disease. Jackson was 65.

Jackson originally shared his affection for the drink in his early career with is first book, The World Guide to Beer, published in 1977, followed by his popular TV series, The Beer Hunter.

Over the years, Jackson has appeared in numerous beer columns and published many more books in the process, making him the “king” of beer tasting and critique.

Without the study of beer provided through Jackson’s work, we all wouldn’t have the understanding that do of our favorite beverage that we have today. Make sure to dedicate your next tasty beer to the legacy that Michael Jackson has left behind.
